About Us

NachoGuitars:

Look, feel and tone of the early solidbody electric guitars from the 1950s.

We are passionale about vintage guitars. We love the way they look, feel and sound. We work hard to achieve these qualities on newly built instruments.

We apply old school techniques to make every guitar feel like an old friend, different and unique.

Our finishing and aging processes are meant to make a guitar feel like a vintage workhorse that’s been played every day for over 60 years.

All materials are selected according to vintage specs and they are meticulously treated to replicate the passing of time.

They say God lives in the details.

We believe it only takes a few details to set apart an outstanding instrument from a correct one, and we strive to get those details right.

Testimonials

I thought you might enjoy an update regarding my new Blackguard.

The other week I took it to my guitar shop for a truss rod adjustment.  While I was there, we compared the guitar with a 1954 Esquire and 1956 Tele.  We all agreed that it sounded better than both of them.  I was also told that this was the best feeling and most authentic looking Nachocaster they have seen.  Thank you for not having me consider spending $30k more for a guitar.  Whenever I sit down to play her for five minutes, half an hour passes.  It’s the best.

Regards,

BOB

I still can’t get my head around the quality of the finish and the tone…

I wanted to drop you a short e-mail and let you know that in the month that I have had “Gloria” I have played her extensively. I am fortunate to own many guitars and to have played many more and without any hesitation I can say that Gloria is one of the finest instruments I have ever had the privilege of playing. I still can’t get my head around the quality of the finish and the tone…my God…the tone on the neck and middle settings is, frankly, sublime. I take my hat off to you and your team – what you guys do is a masterclass in luthiership. I hope to be blessed with the pleasure of owning more of your instruments while I continue to roam this planet.

I have a few vintage blackguards but find myself playing your guitars all the time.

My Nachoguitar Roseanne #1966 is unbelievably close in playing and sounding to my original November 1951. I have a few vintage blackguards but find myself playing your guitars all the time. Your work is amazing!

Nacho you have a little bit of Clarence Leo Fender, Tadeo Gomez, & the rest of the original crew flowing through your veins.

I own two Nachoguitars Meryl and Paula. There is a nice difference in sound & feel between them. Meryl is a featherweight. I love the matched pickups and the middle «out of phase« position is incredible. I played Meryl and my ’53 Esquire in the bridge position and my friends couldn’t tell which was the vintage guitar. Paula is a little more refined in sound until you crank her up. In the lead position she sounds like Keith Richards playing «Respectable«. She blows me away. I love them both.  The level of detail is amazing. Keep up the great work so the world can play & hear the sound of the Blackguard for another 65 years! Best regards.

I have received the guitar and it is an exceptional build – it plays and feels better than my all original pre-CBS.

I ended up buying the Nacho Contour body slab 60 blonde. The biggest appeal of this specific guitar was the light weight and the fantastic slab board. I have received the guitar and it is an exceptional build – it plays and feels better than my all original pre-CBS. Everything about this guitar is simply perfect in my view – super resonant and feels so comfortable. So now I have two Nacho guitars and they are both lifetime keepers – simply amazing versions of their respective guitar types. I will take a pause for the moment before purchasing another as I am trying to give each one of these two plenty of playing and attention. I am sure there will be another Nacho guitar in my future. Please keep me on your distribution list so that I can stay informed – there is always a good chance that I buy one more from the next batch!

You are making the best electric guitars out there. They play and sound absolutely terrific.

Thank you.

Francisco

I have really developed a special relationship with your guitars

Everyone thinks they are an expert….and maybe they do know but for me, it’s all about feel……i don’t get into the minutia…I’ve got no time for that……some guys get into tubes and caps and this and that…to me, it’s all about feel that can change depending on the day, mood, venue etc….i have really developed a special relationship with your guitars…they are dependable which is really important to me…i know if I stretch out a bit, they will be there for me and in an odd way, encourage me to take chances…very few guitars in my life have allowed me to do that on a consistent basis……

I don’t know how you do it but it’s absolutely amazing.

It would be impossible for there to have ever been a guitar built that sounds better than this one. I don’t know how you do it but it’s absolutely amazing. Sounding, feeling and looking. Thank you so much for everything I couldn’t be happier.

Nacho- Your relic work is extraordinary. I am now the proud owner of a Nachocaster and my guitar collection is complete.

Thanks again for everything.  Your patience, kindness, and effort to create my “ideal” guitar, etc., is greatly appreciated. You’re amazing and I wish you all the best.  Thanks again.

I can honestly say that this will be the one & only Tele that I’ll ever need.

As a player for over 30+ years, I’ve never had a draw for the Telecaster. Well, that all changed after a discussion with Dave Wilson `{`ToneQuest Report`}` about Nacho’s guitars. I can honestly say that this will be the one & only Tele that I’ll ever need. Details, look, feel and, oh those sounds just cover all the bases `{`rock, jazz, blues & americana for me`}`. «Emmylou« is the sweetest ’52’ Blackguard that I never knew I was missing. Way to go, Nacho…….You Rock!!

Nacho, Thank you for sending the latest batch of your guitars!

I want to tell you about #3245 that I purchased from you about 3 years ago. Understand that I own 4 other Fender Telecaster / Esquire guitars from 1953 to 1963. Of all of these guitars, my 38-year-old son picks up your Blackguard Telecaster every time….he loves it! He told me “Papa, don’t ever sell the Nacho Blackguard Tele!” That is a testimony to the guitars you build. He will inherit your guitar, no question!. Thank you again for a superlative guitar!

After nearly 30 years of searching for my *perfect* Telecaster I have found what I was looking for and I found even more.

I don’t know how many Teles I played (after 16 years of working in different guitar shops) but none of them had the look, feel, twang and mojo like Lucky No. 0007. I play more than 200 gigs a year and the Nachocaster makes everything easy. The neck shape is just perfect and makes even 3 hours gigs comfortable to play. Lucky No. 0007 is a piece of art and became my No. 1 workhorse in nearly no time. Thank you Nacho for making those wonderful guitars with love and passion.
